An Unlikely Friend

Two young girls meet an unknown creature on their hike up the mountain. As each tries to find out a little more about the other, they find a common need to get home and an unexpected friendship.

Joseph William “Bill” Jones is a retired school teacher who taught U.S. History, Social Problems, Economics and Government at John Marshall High School.

Over the years, Bill has been known to delight children with his storytelling ability. It was common to hear a request for a story to pass the time on a long car trip. “An Unlikely Friend” fulfilled one such request. The illustrations were the creation of Anthony Conder, an art student from Colombier-Saugnieu, France.

Bill was born in Grafton, West Virginia and currently lives in Moundsville, West Virginia with his wife, Susan. You can order “An Unlikely Friend” through Amazon.
